Though I strive to be one of those rare 'uncomplicated' young women, I'm quite a complex person. So here is a very short, basic look at little me.

My Passion: Performing Arts and Writing. I MUST act, sing, compose music, and dance. I MUST write. If I do not, I lose all purpose. I live for this.

My Beliefs: I am a Catholic. I believe in God, and love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ more than myself. No no, don't roll your eyes and go, "Oh great." I'm far different than any other Catholic you'll meet. I have a extremely open mind and heart. I don't preach and I don't convert people (leave that to the professionals), and I don't judge others by their beliefs. I don't get 'in your face' about it. I accept anyone, regardless of their views.

My Annoyance: Close-minded people with a one-track mind, and religious division. Especially the last. C'mon, people. The little technicalities and differences shouldn't matter a whole lot. So what if I go to 'mass' instead of 'church'? We're both worshiping the same God, right? We both love Jesus, accept him, and follow his ways, right? Don't get so hung up on the way you do the dance. Instead, focus on the music.

My Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Coffee. You can tell a lot by a persons favorite ice cream, you know.

My Favorite Style: Classy, elegant, and clean-cut. But I dress for comfort. The only time I'll ever follow the "as long as I look good, who cares if it hurts" mind frame is when I'm costuming.

My Biggest Problem: I'm a huge flirt. It's terrible. But I don't do it just to flirt. Flirting is all part of The Game. It was an actual art in the 14-1500's in the Royal Courts of England. It's all just a very big game. Flirting is a way of communication. It's just fun!

So. A few tidbits about me. Satisfied? ^_^

Conventions 2009

Most of you know about my science fiction convention obsession. I believe in these events very strongly. They bring people together that would otherwise have never met. They enrich our imaginations and expand our networks. They feed our hunger for the impossible, make our dreams (however silly) come true for a few hours, and give us hope. They are an escape from the doldrums of our everyday lives. They can be life-changing if you let them.

So whenever I have the time, I go. I support. I costume. I smile and laugh and show love for the people who have just enough magic in their souls to believe in something bigger than this world.

This year, I've been to two very special conventions. PfeiferCon and Wizard World ComicCon Chicago.

PfeiferCon is a private Star Wars convention hosted by my amazing friend. I'll call him "Anakin" for now. He's a collector of anything Star Wars, and has so much stuff that he has his own convention in his house every year. It's a blast, and I look forward to it when summer rolls around.

Wizard World/Chicago ComicCon/Whatever. Last year, it was Wizard World Chicago. This year, they changed the name, and no one knows whether it was Wizard World, or Chicago ComicCon. I've been going to this for three years, and I love it. This year was especially awesome, despite the heat. Yeah. It was HOT in there. 80 degrees plus humidity. I almost passed out a few times. But us costumers stuck it out and had fun all the same.
